It's amazing to think about all the things girls can talk about when they come together - the new movie that came out, the laundry hack they just discovered, the cheap flights they've been eyeing, the cute neighbour next door, and how to help save the planet earth; not to mention the ever-present topic - beauty secrets!

Looking our best really does make us feel better, doesn't it? More than the compliments and flattery, it's being ready to face the day and its challenges that makes it even more awesome.
What are your favourite beauty secrets?
In the sea of beauty treatments, makeup tips, and the whatnots, you may find natural beauty scrubs on top of your list. Below are DIY beauty scrubs you can make to make yourself glow!
Say goodbye to rough and dry patches and exfoliate your skin with these natural scrubs recipes!
Green Tea Sugar Scrub
Do you love green tea? This natural wonder is packed with antioxidants which are very beneficial to your health, inside and out. Make this recipe and enjoy an afternoon pampering sesh while taking a sip of hot green tea.
- 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons of Green tea powder
- 2 Green tea bags
- 1 cup coconut oil (You can also substitute this with grapeseed or olive oil)
It's pretty easy. First, you need to make a strong cup of green tea and then set it aside and allow to cool. In a large bowl, mix together the ingredients and then pour in tea a little at a time. The dry tea from the bag increases the scrub's effectiveness, plus it gives that coarse, rough texture and makes it possible to preserve the scrubs longer. You're good to go once you get that wet sand or grits kind of mixture.
Sweet Lemon Sugar Scrub
This one smells so good, you'd think you're making some lemon tarts!
- One lemon
- 1/3 cup of raw cane sugar
- 1/3 cup of brown sugar
- 3/4 cup of coconut oil
Place the first two ingredients in a glass bowl and set aside. Next is to heat the coconut oil on low fire until it becomes soft and then pour it into the dry mixture. Mix well. Squeeze the lemon directly into the mixture and scrub it your body. Enjoy this natural beauty treatment and watch your skin glow!
Coffee Scrub for Stretch Marks
Coffee lovers, your beloved drink is more than just a liquid hug so grind those beans and make your soul and skin happy!
- Coffee grounds
- Olive oil
Pour an adequate amount of ground coffee (either from your machine or straight from the package) into a small bowl and add warm water just enough to moisten the coffee. Add in olive oil and mix well until you form a paste-like consistency. Once ready, apply the mixture to the area of your skin with stretch marks and do some light rubs for about 3-5 minutes.
Raw Cacao Facial Scrub
Fair warning - don't lick your face! (But in case you can't help it, don't worry, it's all natural!)
- Raw cacao powder
- Organic oats grounds
- Raw agave
- Lemon juice
Combine equal amounts of cacao powder and ground oats in a bowl. Squeeze in half of the lemon and enough agave to create a paste. Apply a good amount of the mixture to clean face with soft gentle rubs and if you want, you can also go all the way down to your neck. Leave it to dry for about 20 minutes and then wash thoroughly. Feel your face tighten and glow after. You can also apply your favourite moisturiser afterward.
Rose Petals Sugar Scrub
Put that bouquet of roses to good use and try this luxurious body scrub treat!
- Rose petals (any colour will do)
- 1 1/5 cups of plain white sugar
- 1/4 cup of baby oil
Using a food processor or blender, put sugar, petals, and baby oil. Mix until it forms a paste. If you prefer your scrubs fluffy, add more sugar, but if you want it smoother, just add more baby oil. Apply it to any rough patches on your skin and you'll instantly feel fresh and rejuvenated!
These are the best beauty scrubs for me, and they are no-fail natural beauty remedies for skin regeneration. I can attest to its effectiveness! The best part, they're readily available in my kitchen.
They make a great gift idea as well. Store them in a pretty jar and maybe add a cute ribbon on top and voila, you have a party souvenir!
Enjoy and oh, only apply scrubs to clean face/body and don't forget to rinse well after! :)
