Quick Beauty Routine for On-the-go Mums

How can a woman look immaculate when her typical day is spent on chasing and cleaning up after her tiny, energetic bundles of joy? Super mums will never complain, but surely they deserve a much-needed downtime – a pure health and beauty pampering.

Parenting is a tough job and sometimes you will really look like a mess – literally! A little downtime in the morning allows you to transform from a hot mess into one hot momma!

We’ve compiled a list of some of our favourite beauty routines for mums on-the-go:

1 – Get a new haircut.
If you want to look good in a flash, get a groovy haircut. Opt for an easy-to-maintain hairstyle, something you can easily fix when you’re in a rush. Mid-length hairstyles are usually the most convenient as it’s not too long to manage nor too short to tie up back in a ponytail.

2 – Get a reliable concealer.
This is especially effective for new mums who tend to have those dark circles around the eyes. For working mums, go for the long-wearing type so you wouldn’t need to do constant touch-ups throughout the day. A good concealer will hide that tired and worn out look so you can face the world like you just woke up from a beauty sleep!

3 – Work and curl those eyelashes.
Long lashes will make your eyes appear larger; and while it seems needless to curl them, (because you don’t have the luxury of time) a good 15 – 20 seconds to curl them using a lash curler will be worth it. Curly lashes is a must if you want your eyes to stand out; plus it will make your eyes look brighter and healthier.

4 – Take a long, hot bath.
A busy mom’s typical day usually involves looking after the kids, household chores, and other responsibilities. More often than not, these routines will hardly leave you with any time to really enjoy the couch or your much-needed massage. What’s the best cure after a long, tough day? Take a refreshing shower or a warm bath before going to sleep. This will instantly make you feel fresh and calm; plus, it’ll leave you with glowing and healthy skin. When all else fails, take a long hot bath!

5 – Wash and Moisturize the face.
This is another golden rule to ensure pure health and beauty. Remember that a busy mum lacks sleep and your puffy eyes will be a constant reminder of that. Splash water onto your face and eyes to relax and make them appear less puffy and red. Also, make sure to regularly use a moisturizer. Opt for the tinted type. The right one for your skin will work wonders. This way, if you hardly have time to put on makeup, at least your skin will look supple, glowing, and healthy.

6 – Tweezers, lipgloss and the use of additional cosmetics
You can forget about foundations, mascaras, eyeliners, and blush-ons, but never forget to keep your eyebrows on-fleek! Get a reliable tweezer and pluck the stray hairs around your brows to emphasize their natural shape. Well-groomed eyebrows will instantly make you look fresh and smart, ready to face a busy day ahead. On the other hand, keep your favorite lip gloss (or lipstick) handy. It’s the quickest and easiest way to smarten your look when things are in a hurry. And lastly, use makeup sparingly. If you’re a working mum, those 5-minute makeup routines will work best for you.
